In partnership with the Lake Simcoe Region Conservation Authority, the Town of Newmarket completed a stormwater improvement project at the Ray Twinney Recreation Complex.
About the Project:
This stormwater improvement project uses innovative solutions such as low impact development (LID) to manage and treat stormwater in the area. The improvements will reduce downstream flooding and pollutants and chemicals from going into Western Creek.
This project also replaced the asphalt parking lot at the main entrance of the Ray Twinney Recreation Complex with permeable interlocking pavers and converting the parking lot island into a rain garden.
Lines will be repainted on the front parking lot November 17th, 2017.
